Jewelry Box Beautiful

We finally received our Novica Legend of Sita Jewelry Box, on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Today we unraveled it from its paper packaging, and the first thing that we noticed was the terrific detailed work which was decorated on the box. It was glittery, hand painted with oil paints, and hand carved too. The design is unique, and it gives the box a complete exotic look. Also the other thing that makes this jewelry box one of a kind is that it is all made with crocodile wood.

Here is what we found about crocodile wood (from www.windsong2.com) "A narrow-trunked tree, the wood is well suited to the elongated impressionist style of carving, popular in Bali since the 1930's. Crocodile wood is often called the Ivory of Woods because of its similar color and smooth finish."

The artwork showing Sita and the Golden Deer, was fascinating and interesting.
"Goddess Sita was born in Sitamarhi (Punaura) in Bihar (India) and soon after her birth, taken to Janakpur in present day Nepal by her father, King Janak. She is esteemed as the standard setter for wifely and womanly virtues for all Hindu women." Click Here to learn more about Sita and her story.

Also we found on the bottom of the jewelry box the signature of the artist, carved into the wood which gave the box that personal touch. Along with the box came a small brown booklet with a description written inside.

The box is a good size for storing medium size to small sized jewelry. It is a good size for carrying it with you anywhere you go, and the wood is sturdy and of good quality. The only thing that I didn't like about this jewelry box was the difficulty it gave me to open it. It took some time to open the box, since it felt like it was stuck together. Once I got it open, it closed and opened much easier.

Overall, the jewelry box would be the perfect asset for your all your earrings, rings, necklaces, and much more! It's cute, lightweight, and it can store a good amount of jewelry inside.

  7. I'm in-love with the engravings. It perfectly suites on the color. Having jewelry box on the closet was a big help for me since it keeps my jewelries in places. This even made me feel that my belonging are safe.
As of now, I'm planning to have one for my newly brought bracelet at Vera Wang jewelry.
